On 29 November 2026, Swedish Self Deception and Ankor will take the stage at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Self Deception formed in Stockholm in 2005 around vocalist Andreas Clark and drummer Erik Ingels Graham; today they are joined by guitarist Ronny Westphal and bassist Patrik Hallgren. Their sound moves between modern rock, metal and melodic hard rock: dense guitars, catchy vocals and choruses with a pop sensibility, without letting go of the heavy foundation. Recent releases, such as Destroy the Art (2024), continue that trend toward a more direct, heavier approach. Live they seek the tension between energy and melody, with riffs that linger.
Ankor, from Tarragona, steers toward modern metal that blends metalcore, alternative rock and pop. With frontwoman Jessie Williams the band plays on contrasts: clear vocals, intense passages and electronic accents. The songs navigate between English and Spanish and touch on relationships, resilience and social tensions. On stage this translates into dynamic sets with tight choruses and sharp melodies.
