Annisokay

Formed in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Annisokay has since 2007 evolved in a register between metalcore and post-hardcore, with a marked balance between clean singing, screamed vocals, melodic guitars and heavier passages. The band centers around Christoph Wieczorek, joined over the years by several musicians, with a notable change in 2019 when Rudi Schwarzer took charge of the screamed parts. After early short formats, Annisokay released the EP You, Always in 2010, then the album The Lucid Dream[er] in 2012, initially independently before a reissue in 2014. The rest of its discography includes Enigmatic Smile in 2015, Devil May Care in 2016, Arms in 2018 and Aurora in 2021. Through these releases, Annisokay refines a more direct writing where melodic choruses sit alongside staccato rhythms and a modern production typical of European metalcore scenes of the 2010s. The band toured in Germany and then more broadly in Europe, with stints alongside Silverstein, Callejon, Electric Callboy, Emil Bulls, Parkway Drive or The Word Alive, and regular festival activity. Annisokay also contributed in 2021 to the track Shed My Skin by Within Temptation, extending a career rooted in alternative and contemporary metal scenes.
