Fat Dog

Born in London in 2020 during the lockdown, Fat Dog formed around Joe Love and soon expanded into a five-piece on the south London scene. Even before their first releases the band attracted attention for their live shows and went on to open for Sports Team, Yard Act and Viagra Boys before signing to Domino in 2023. Their sound sits at the intersection of post-punk, dance-punk and a confrontational electronic approach, featuring taut synth lines, rave-adjacent rhythms and detours into klezmer—notably through the use of saxophone. Fat Dog released “King of the Slugs” in 2023, followed by “All the Same”, “Running” and “I Am the King” in 2024, and the album WOOF later that year. Their trajectory also includes festivals and showcases such as End of the Road, Borderline in Dublin and SXSW 2024, where raw rock energy, hypnotic dance repetition and a taste for the absurd coexist without collapsing into one another.
