Overmono

Formed by Welsh brothers Tom and Ed Russell, Overmono have established themselves on the British electronic scene by blending techno, breakbeat, UK garage and bass music. Based in the United Kingdom after beginnings in the rave and club landscape, the duo continue the individual trajectories of Truss and Tessela in a shared project that is more open to melodic textures and fragmented rhythms. Their early releases on XL Recordings — the Arla I, Arla II and Arla III EP trilogy (2016–2017) — laid the foundations for a sound defined by taut percussion, prominent basslines and recurrent use of sampled vocals, before maxi releases like Everything U Need (2020) and Cash Romantic (2022) consolidated this aesthetic on the border between club and home listening. With the album Good Lies (2023), Overmono extend this vocabulary toward more song-oriented formats while remaining centred on the dancefloor. Active both in DJ sets and live performances, Overmono regularly circulate between European festivals, British clubs and international tours, developing a sonic universe that links soundsystem culture, jungle heritage and contemporary electronic sensibilities.
