DJ Seinfeld

Under the name DJ Seinfeld, Armand Jakobsson has been developing a project since the mid-2010s that originated in Sweden and quickly became associated with the European house scene. Initially noted for a lo-fi, melancholic approach—rooted in house, deep house and rhythmic devices borrowed from outsider house—DJ Seinfeld gained recognition with tracks of raw texture before compiling this early period on the 2017 album Time Spent Away From U. Over subsequent releases his work widened into cleaner, more expansive production, where house remains central but interacts with breakbeat, ambient, UK garage and electronic pop elements. This evolution is evident on Mirrors (2021), a record more open to vocals and song forms. Alongside his productions, DJ Seinfeld continues to DJ in clubs and at festivals, with sets that tie together house, soft techno and fractured rhythms. Balancing melodic intimacy, club energy and a taste for hazy atmospheres, he has built a trajectory marked by a gradual shift from lo-fi house toward a broader, more detailed dance-electronic sound.
