Nia Archives

Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, and partly raised in Leeds, Nia Archives has developed a distinctly British approach to electronic music, informed by sound system culture, reggae, R&B and soul. A producer, DJ, singer and songwriter, she attracted attention in the early 2020s with tracks that put jungle and drum and bass back in the spotlight, driven by fast breakbeats, dense basslines and a voice often placed at the centre of the production. The EPs Headz Gone West (2021) and Forbidden Feelingz (2022) helped shape this identity—between rave energy, soulful melodies and introspective songwriting—before Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against tha Wall in 2023. With Silence Is Loud, released in 2024, Nia Archives further broadened her palette by blending club-focused tracks, more direct songwriting and textures close to alternative pop. Her trajectory has unfolded across DJ sets, production and live performance, within the context of jungle’s return to British and international stages, where she links the breakbeat heritage of the 1990s with a contemporary vocal sensibility.
