Nothing More

Founded in the early 2000s in San Antonio, Texas, Nothing More gradually established itself on the North American rock scene with a sound that sits between alternative metal, hard rock, and progressive rock. Initially shaped by a more Christian rock–oriented aesthetic, the band refocused over the years around singer—and former drummer—Jonny Hawkins, guitarist Mark Vollelunga, and bassist Daniel Oliver, developing a more personal writing style marked by introspective lyrics and a pronounced taste for dynamic shifts. After several self-released records, Nothing More sharpened its identity on the albums Shelter (2004), Save You/Save Me (2007), and The Few Not Fleeting (2009), which laid the groundwork for a sound blending massive riffs, highly expressive vocals, and prog-leaning structures. The release of Nothing More in 2013, reissued in 2014 on an international label, opened up a broader circuit of tours, festivals, and support slots in modern rock and metal. With The Stories We Tell Ourselves (2017) and Spirits (2022), Nothing More pursued a conceptual approach in which discreet electronic elements, catchy choruses, and more atmospheric passages intertwine, reinforcing the band’s singular place at the crossroads of alternative metal and a rock that is both melodic and hard-hitting.
