Steve Aoki

Born in 1977 in Miami and raised in Newport Beach, California, DJ and electronic music producer Steve Aoki has built his career between independent punk culture and the global club scene. In the late 1990s he founded the label Dim Mak, initially focused on hardcore and indie rock before gradually shifting toward electro house and EDM. Aoki gained notice in the mid-2000s with a string of remixes and tours in North American and then European clubs, before breaking into the major festival circuit. His debut studio album, “Wonderland” (2012), established a formula combining energetic electro house, vocal features and pop inflections. The “Neon Future” series (I in 2014, II in 2015, III in 2018, IV in 2020) continued this hybrid approach, while “Kolony” (2017) leaned more toward hip-hop and “HiROQUEST: Genesis” (2022) synthesizes EDM, pop and bass-music influences. Steve Aoki’s collaborations span pop, rap and electronic rock, with an aesthetic centered on strong melodic structures, extended buildups and drops designed for large stages.
