Armin van Buuren

Born in Leiden, the Netherlands, in 1976, Armin van Buuren emerged on the Dutch trance scene in the mid‑1990s, balancing studio productions with DJ sets in clubs. He developed a sound focused on melodic and progressive trance—often close to uplifting—while gradually incorporating elements of house and EDM. From 2001 he structured his career around the weekly radio show A State of Trance, which became an international hub for trance and expanded into tours and dedicated events. At the same time he released a series of studio albums that mark his different aesthetic phases: 76 (2003) and Shivers (2005) to Imagine (2008) and Mirage (2010), followed by Intense (2013), Embrace (2015), Balance (2019) and Feel Again (2022). Co‑founder of the label Armada Music, Armin van Buuren has collaborated extensively with singers and producers in the electronic sphere and continues to perform on major stages and at electronic music festivals.
