Don Diablo
Originally from Coevorden in the Netherlands and based in Amsterdam, Don Diablo—born Don Pepijn Schipper—rose in the early 2000s on the Dutch club scene as a producer and DJ at the crossroads of house and electro. After several EPs, he released the album Life Is a Festival in 2008, characterized by a crossover approach between dance and electronic pop. Throughout the 2010s, his work shifted toward a future house aesthetic, with tracks such as On My Mind and Cutting Shapes establishing a formula that blends immediate melodies, syncopated basslines, and dancefloor‑minded structures. The 2018 collaboration Survive with Emeli Sandé and Gucci Mane accompanied the release of the album Future that same year, followed by Forever in 2021, which continued this blend of club sounds and vocal songwriting. In parallel, Don Diablo founded the Hexagon label as a platform for his own productions and for artists aligned with a melodic, futuristic strain of house. A fixture at festivals and on international tours, he has built a coherent visual and musical world in which scenography and science‑fiction imagery play a significant role in his artistic identity.
