Jan Blomqvist

Based in Berlin, Jan Blomqvist has been developing since the early 2010s a project that sits between electronic songwriting, melodic house and atmospheric-leaning techno. Initially active in rock bands, the German musician shifted his writing toward the club while keeping a central place for vocals, song structures and a rather stripped-down pop sensibility. Jan Blomqvist emerged on the Berlin scene with live performances that blur the line between concert and DJ set, performing solo or with a band depending on the format. His first album, Remote Control (2016), establishes a sound built on steady pulses, synth pads, slow progressions and a frequently restrained vocal. Across his releases he moves between labels and international electronic stages, with occasional collaborations such as the one with Rodriguez Jr. His music remains committed to a precise balance between dancefloor tension, vocal writing and an introspective mood.
