Fit For An Autopsy

Formed in 2008 in New Jersey, Fit For An Autopsy emerged on the American deathcore scene by combining death metal riffing, a hardcore pedigree, and hard-hitting rhythms. The band centers around guitarist and producer Will Putney, a mainstay of extreme metal, and has gone through several lineup changes, notably in the vocal role, which has been handled by Joe Badolato since 2014. Their recording debut came with The Process of Human Extermination (2011), followed by sharpened songwriting on Hellbound (2013) and Absolute Hope Absolute Hell (2015), where their deathcore already took on more melodic and atmospheric dimensions. The subsequent albums — The Great Collapse (2017), The Sea of Tragic Beasts (2019), and Oh What the Future Holds (2022) — continue this shift toward more progressive structures, playing with contrasts between rhythmic density, slower passages, and airier textures. In parallel, the band contributed to splits such as The Depression Sessions (2016) and The Aggression Sessions (2023), anchoring them within an international network of deathcore and extreme metal acts. Fit For An Autopsy’s lyrics confront social issues, the environmental crisis, and political tension head-on, and the group has carried this approach to the stage through regular touring in North America, Europe, and beyond.
