Bodysnatcher

Since 2014 Bodysnatcher, a deathcore band from Melbourne, Florida, has been developing a sound heavily influenced by beatdown hardcore and slow, heavy tempos. Built around vocalist Kyle Medina and musicians who came up in various local lineups, Bodysnatcher released the EP “Abandonment” in 2015 and the album “Death of Me” in 2017, which established an aesthetic of very low guitars, sudden rhythmic breaks and predominantly screamed vocals. With “This Heavy Void” (2020) the band intensified the dense, claustrophobic quality of its compositions, while “Bleed‑Abide” (2022) leaned more on contrasts between slow passages and faster sequences without departing from the deathcore framework. Bodysnatcher’s lyrics address everyday violence, loss and frustration in a direct manner, closely tied to pit culture and the small‑venue scene where the band builds its stage presence through regular tours in the United States and Europe alongside other contemporary extreme metal acts.
