Thy Art Is Murder

Born in a Sydney suburb in the mid‑2000s, Thy Art Is Murder made a mark on the Australian metal scene with a dense, aggressive deathcore sound influenced by modern death metal and some black‑metal textures. Formed in 2006 in Blacktown, the band first released the EP Infinite Death in 2008, then shaped its identity around highly rhythmic riffs, massive breakdowns and prominent guttural vocals. The band followed with the albums The Adversary (2010), Hate (2012), Holy War (2015), Dear Desolation (2017), Human Target (2019) and Godlike (2023), which show a shift toward more political themes, addressing religion, systemic violence and the ecological crisis. Primarily operating as a quintet, Thy Art Is Murder maintains an intensive live schedule, touring clubs and international festivals across Europe, North America and Asia, often alongside equally extreme metalcore and death‑metal acts.
