Left to Suffer
Formed in Atlanta in 2019, Left to Suffer sits at the intersection of deathcore, metalcore and nu metal, to the point that the band describes its own music as nu-deathcore. Fronted by vocalist Taylor Barber, Left to Suffer first drew attention with the single “Burden” in 2019, recorded with CJ McCreery, before laying down the foundations of their aesthetic with A Year of Suffering (2020) and the EPs On Death (2021), And Dying Forever (2022) and Noah (2023). The band develops a compact, heavy, staccato sound that blends deathcore aggression, nu metal groove and an openness to collaborations outside the strictest scene boundaries. That trajectory includes “D.N.R.” featuring Will Ramos and Ricky Hoover and the album Feral (2023), where Left to Suffer continued the blend with guests such as Joe Badolato and Kim Dracula. Alongside their studio releases, Left to Suffer established themselves on the North American metal circuit through tours with Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, Ov Sulfur and Distant. Their third album, Leap of Death, was released in 2024.
