Humanity's Last Breath
Formed in Helsingborg, Sweden around guitarist and producer Buster Odeholm, who is also active in Vildhjarta, Humanity's Last Breath operates in a highly rhythmic deathcore marked by dissonant chords, slow tempos and a dark atmosphere. The project began as an offshoot of the Swedish djent movement before establishing itself on the European extreme metal scene through self-produced EPs and a steady online presence. With the self-titled album Humanity's Last Breath (2013) the band established a signature of very low-tuned guitars, massive saturated vocals and fragmented structures, then gradually shifted its writing toward a heavier, more textured register. Humanity's Last Breath consolidated this approach on Abyssal (2019), where the deathcore is tinged with ambient elements and almost cinematic arrangements, and further emphasized black metal influences and orchestral climates on Välde (2021). Ashen, released in 2023, continues the exploration of a dense, weighty sound, between modern death metal, staccato riffs and atmospheric layers. On stage, Humanity's Last Breath primarily plays venues and festivals dedicated to deathcore and progressive metal in Europe and North America, with a variable lineup centered on Buster Odeholm and vocalist Filip Danielsson, reinforcing the image of a band both studio-focused and committed to live performance.
