Michael Mayer

Active in Cologne, Michael Mayer has been part of the German electronic scene since the 1990s, linked to minimal techno and house. As a DJ, producer and remixer, he helped shape the local scene around the Delirium record shop and later Kompakt, the label and collective he co‑founded. His work blends a techno pulse, clear melodic lines, ambient textures and a subtle pop sensibility, often favouring a more flexible, introspective approach rather than strictly functional dance music. As a solo artist he released Touch (2004), Mantasy (2012) and & (2018), three albums that trace an evolution from his early minimalism to a more open electronic sound touched by house, slow trance and contemplative atmospheres. Alongside DJ sets at clubs and festivals across Europe, Mayer has developed remix work for pop and electronic artists while continuing projects within the Kompakt ecosystem, notably the duo Supermayer with Superpitcher.
