Stimming

Born in Giessen and raised in Butzbach near Frankfurt, Martin Stimming later settled in Hamburg, where since the mid-2000s he has developed a body of work situated between house, melodic techno and downtempo electronic music. Trained very young on violin, piano and drums, Stimming retains in his productions an approach to composition marked by acoustic timbres, micro-rhythmic details and the use of everyday recorded sounds integrated into club structures that are often loose and understated. After his first maxi singles in 2007, Stimming drew closer to the Diynamic label founded by Solomun and Adriano, within which appeared notably Una Pena in 2008 and the albums Reflections (2009), Liquorice (2011), Stimming (2013) and Alpe Lusia (2016). His discography then expanded with Exodus in 2018 and Positive in 2021 with Lambert, followed by Ludwig in 2021, Elderberry in 2023 and Friedrich in 2025. Stimming has also released on Terminal M, Pampa and Ki Records, while developing a live format centered on improvisation and performances present both in club circuits and at European electronic festivals.
