DMA's
Formed in Sydney in 2012, DMA's bring together Tommy O'Dell on vocals and Matt Mason and Johnny Took on guitars in a trio format that initially developed alongside Little Bastard, a project rooted in alt-country and bluegrass. DMA's quickly emerged with the single "Delete" and the DMA's EP in 2014, before shaping a repertoire situated between indie rock, alternative rock and a britpop legacy, characterised by direct melodies, clean guitars and a vocal often leaning toward pop momentum. Over the years DMA's have expanded this base into broader and sometimes more danceable textures, particularly evident on The Glow (2020), without abandoning the guitar-led songwriting of their early years. Their studio discography includes Hills End (2016), For Now (2018), The Glow (2020) and How Many Dreams? (2023). Highly active on stage in both Australia and the UK, DMA's have also opened for artists such as Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft, Kasabian and The Kooks, which helped cement their place in rock circuits and at festivals. A notable milestone in their trajectory is their cover of Cher's "Believe" for Like a Version, which received wide circulation beyond Australia.
