Blossoms
Formed in Stockport, Greater Manchester, in 2013, Blossoms comprises Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock. Their songwriting blends indie pop, indie rock, synth-pop and touches of new wave. The band first grew on the northern England scene, playing early shows in Manchester, touring clubs and British festivals, before gaining wider recognition in the mid-2010s, notably with support from producer James Skelly. After several EPs, Blossoms released the album 'Blossoms' in 2016, followed by 'Cool Like You' (2018), 'Foolish Loving Spaces' (2020), 'Ribbon Around the Bomb' (2022) and 'Gary' (2024). Their music rests on immediate melodies, chiming guitars, prominent keyboards and a chorus sensibility borrowed as much from British pop as from a more retro aesthetic. Over the years Blossoms have moved between independent venues, larger halls and festivals such as Glastonbury, while remaining closely associated with Stockport and Manchester. The band has also explored side projects, including covers of The Smiths with Rick Astley and the track 'To Do List (After The Breakup)' recorded with Findlay, and has launched its own label, ODD SK Recordings.
