DICE

Formed in Perth, Western Australia, around Ben Hodge, Tom King, Regan Beazley and Sam Barrett-Lennard, DICE developed in the early 2020s in an indie-rock register open to guitar pop, supple rhythmic lines and psychedelic inflections. The quartet first drew attention with a series of tracks played on Australia's alternative scene, before gradually expanding its audience through tours in Australia and then internationally. In DICE's writing, songs alternate between direct formats and more stretched-out pieces, while maintaining a clear taste for lucid melodies and contrasts between collective energy and a more introspective restraint. This evolution is evident on Midnight Zoo, the debut album released in 2024, where DICE refines a sound less light than at their beginnings, more nuanced in both arrangements and themes. DICE's trajectory thus sits between the Australian indie circuit, radio exposure and dates in the UK and North America.
