Claptone

A masked figure of the Berlin house scene, Claptone has, since the early 2010s, developed an artistic universe where anonymity and theatrical presentation accompany a melodic deep house aesthetic marked by pop touches and nods to classic house. He was first noticed with a series of maxi singles on the Exploited label, notably the 2012 track "Cream", and gradually established himself on the European club circuit before expanding into international tours and residencies, notably with his The Masquerade concept, realised as events and compilation releases. The debut album "Charmer" (2015) established a song- and vocal-centered approach, continued on "Fantast" (2018) and "Closer" (2021), where Claptone collaborated with various singers including Gregory Porter, JAW, Nathan Nicholson and Seal. His music blends warm basslines, straightforward house rhythms and melancholic melodies, often carried by catchy choruses, enabling him to move between clubs, major festivals and more mainstream stages without leaving the realm of electronic music.
