Blond:ish

Active since the late 2000s, BLOND:ISH first developed in Montreal as a duo made up of Vivie-Ann Bakos and Anstascia D’Elene Corniere, before becoming Bakos’s solo project in the late 2010s. Situated within electronic club music, BLOND:ISH initially worked a house sound with deep and tech edges, then moved toward a more melodic and organic approach blending downtempo, afro‑house and psychedelic textures. Releases on Kompakt and Crosstown Rebels accompanied this evolution, as did a regular presence in Ibiza, on international festival stages and in contexts that combine club settings, outdoor events and alternative culture. BLOND:ISH’s sound rests on warm percussion, supple basslines, atmospheric pads and vocals often treated as textural elements. Alongside her DJing and production, BLOND:ISH has also launched Abracadabra and led Bye Bye Plastic, an initiative addressing environmental issues in the music sector.
