Boris Dlugosch

Based in Hamburg, Boris Dlugosch has since the early 1990s developed a career linked to house music, between DJ sets, production and remixing. Having passed through the Front club in the Hammerbrook district, he established himself in a German scene then more oriented towards trance and happy hardcore, while navigating himself at first between these aesthetics before anchoring his work in a deeper, funkier and vocal house. Boris Dlugosch has multiplied parallel projects and collaborations, notably with Mousse T. and Michi Lange, under names such as Booom!, BMR, Altered States or Peppermint Jam Allstars, connected to the Peppermint Jam universe. In the 1990s, tracks like “Keep Pushin’” in 1996 and “Hold Your Head Up High” in 1997, with singer Inaya Day, circulated widely in clubs. His name took on a more international dimension with his remix of Moloko’s “Sing It Back” in 1999, then with “Never Enough” in 2001, recorded with Róisín Murphy, which he later revisited on “Look Around You” in 2013. Boris Dlugosch also signed numerous remixes for artists from pop, disco and electronic music, while continuing regular activity on European house and club scenes with a sound centered on groove, vocal lines and direct production, inherited as much from classic house as from 1990s dance.
