Majestica

Majestica is a power metal band formed in Boden, Sweden, around guitarist and vocalist Tommy Johansson. It is a direct continuation of his former project ReinXeed, which was active from the mid‑2000s. Under the ReinXeed name Johansson released several melodic power metal albums with neoclassical touches between 2008 and 2013, including The Light (2008) and A New World (2013), before renaming the project Majestica in 2019. Working within a symphonic power metal vein, Majestica combines fast tempos, highly melodic vocal lines, film‑inspired orchestrations and massive choirs, with a visual and lyrical aesthetic close to fantasy, adventure and conceptual storytelling. The first album under the Majestica name, Above the Sky, was released in 2019, followed in 2020 by A Christmas Carol, a power metal adaptation of Charles Dickens’ tale that further anchored Majestica in a narrative and theatrical register. Around Tommy Johansson — who is also a guitarist in Sabaton — the group is structured as a full lineup with guitars, bass and drums, and Majestica asserts itself as a collective extension of a project that began as a solo endeavor on the European power metal scene.
