Angus McSix

Power metal with a heroic fantasy bent, Angus McSix is built around Swiss singer Thomas Winkler, the former frontman of Gloryhammer, who continues his interest in fantasy narratives and character-driven storytelling. Formed in the early 2020s with German guitarist and producer Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann and Italian bassist Thalìa Bellazecca, the band plays melodic power metal that emphasizes immediate, catchy choruses, fast tempos and arrangements combining choirs, electronic touches and video-game-inspired atmospheres. The Angus McSix fiction—a hero fighting in a medieval-fantasy world—serves as the guiding thread for the lyrics and the visual aesthetic, conceived as an alternate sequel to the universe Winkler had previously explored. Signed to Napalm Records, Angus McSix focuses on the European metal scene through tours and specialized festivals, and released in 2023 the concept album “Angus McSix and the Sword of Power”, which establishes the project's musical foundations between classic European power metal, symphonic influences and nods to dance and eurodance.
