Battle Beast

Formed in Helsinki in 2008 by Anton Kabanen, Juuso Soinio and Pyry Vikki, Battle Beast is a Finnish heavy metal band rooted in power metal, featuring very melodic choruses and a marked taste for keyboards, direct rhythms and references to 1980s metal. First noticed after winning the Wacken Metal Battle in 2010, Battle Beast released Steel in 2011 and soon expanded their live activity, touring with Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Powerwolf, U.D.O. and Sabaton. The arrival of Noora Louhimo as vocalist in 2012 ushered in a new phase, documented on Battle Beast (2013) and Unholy Savior (2015). After guitarist and principal songwriter Anton Kabanen left the same year, the band moved toward a more upfront, hook-driven writing style on Bringer of Pain (2017), No More Hollywood Endings (2019) and Circus of Doom (2022), while retaining their heavy/power metal foundation. In 2025 the group released Steelbound and opened a new chapter with Marina La Torraca joining as vocalist. Today Battle Beast operates as a six-piece in which guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals have clearly exposed roles in songs built for the stage.
