Dragony

Formed in Vienna, Austria, in 2007 around vocalist Siegfried Samer, Dragony has established itself on the European melodic power metal scene, with a marked taste for symphonic arrangements and worlds inspired by fantasy and pop culture. Initially known as The Dragonslayer Project before settling on the name Dragony, the band solidified its identity with the album Legends in 2012, followed by Shadowplay in 2015, weaving together riffs rooted in classic heavy metal, orchestral keyboards, and choir-backed choruses. A transitional chapter came with the EP Lords of the Hunt in 2017, then Masters of the Multiverse in 2018, where Dragony multiplied nods to the imagery of games, comics, and series. With Viribus Unitis in 2021, the group embraced a concept built around a whimsical retelling of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s history, while preserving the melodic hallmarks that define Dragony both on stage and in the studio. Regularly active on club and festival stages in Austria and across Europe, the band is part of a network of power and symphonic metal acts with whom Dragony shares tours and lineups.
