Info
Hard‑Fi land at O2 Academy Brixton in London on 3 December 2026. Formed in 2003 in Staines-upon-Thames, the quartet of Richard Archer, Ross Phillips, Kai Stephens and Steve Kemp forged a British indie rock that leans into alternative guitar lines, rhythm sections shaped by soul and dance, and refrains fed by dub, ska and urban pop. Their lyrics stick to the everyday — suburbia, work, weekends, social friction — with a plainspoken, street-level tone. Stars of CCTV (2005), much of it recorded in a former minicab office, set the group’s raw, concrete aesthetic, followed by the broader Once Upon a Time in the West (2007) and the more pop-tinged Killer Sounds (2011). After a long break and a 2014 best‑of, Hard‑Fi regrouped in 2022, returned to stages in 2023 and released Don’t Go Making Plans as a single and EP in 2024. Live, the band shifts between tight rock, dubby basslines and a danceable pulse, built around direct hooks and unvarnished storytelling.
