Scouting For Girls

Formed in 2005 in the Ruislip district of London, the pop-rock trio Scouting For Girls comprises Roy Stride (vocals, piano, guitar), Greg Churchouse (bass) and Peter Ellard (drums). Their songwriting is piano-centered, featuring immediate choruses and lyrics that mainly depict everyday relationships and youthful memories. The name Scouting For Girls riffs on the scout handbook title “Scouting for Boys” and accompanied the band’s emergence on the mid-2000s London scene, between small venues and an online presence. Signed to Epic, Scouting For Girls released their eponymous debut album in 2007, driven by several singles widely played on British radio, then followed with “Everybody Wants to Be on TV” (2010) and “The Light Between Us” (2012), which confirmed a direction toward accessible, rhythmic and strongly melodic pop rock. The discography continues with “Still Thinking About You” (2015), “The Trouble With Boys” (2019) and “Easy Cover” (2021), on which Scouting For Girls revisit pop classics from the 1980s and 1990s while remaining true to a direct song format and a band aesthetic built for regular touring in the UK and Europe.
