Frank Turner
Born into the British punk scene, Frank Turner is a singer‑songwriter who was born in 1981 in Manama, Bahrain, and raised in Hampshire, England. He began as the vocalist for London post‑hardcore band Million Dead in the early 2000s, then shifted to a more acoustic, melodic solo approach while retaining punk’s energy and bluntness. From the album “Sleep Is for the Week” (2007), followed by “Love Ire & Song” (2008) and “Poetry of the Deed” (2009), he established himself in a folk‑punk vein, where acoustic guitars, direct melodies and highly personal lyrics are central. With “England Keep My Bones” (2011) and “Tape Deck Heart” (2013) Turner expanded his songwriting, often performed with his band The Sleeping Souls, blending melodic punk rock, folk rock and indie influences. The records “Positive Songs for Negative People” (2015), “Be More Kind” (2018), “No Man’s Land” (2019), “FTHC” (2022) and “Undefeated” (2024) continue this trajectory—balancing intimate confession, historical and social references, and choruses built for the stage—Turner remaining a fixture on independent concert and festival circuits in the UK and internationally.
