Razorlight
Razorlight formed in London in 2002 around singer and guitarist Johnny Borrell. The band is part of the early-2000s British indie rock wave, characterised by a direct, nervy and melodic guitar sound at the intersection of garage rock, the post-punk revival and distinctly British pop songwriting. The lineup solidified with Swedish guitarist Björn Ågren and bassist Carl Dalemo, followed by drummer Andy Burrows – the lineup that defined their most recognisable years. Razorlight made a name on the London scene and released Up All Night (2004), Razorlight (2006) and Slipway Fires (2008), albums propelled by tracks such as 'Golden Touch', 'Somewhere Else', 'In the Morning', 'America' and 'Wire to Wire'. Over the years the band underwent several personnel changes, with Johnny Borrell remaining the only constant member for a long stretch. After splitting in 2014, Razorlight resumed activity in 2017 and issued Olympus Sleeping in 2018. The return of Borrell, Ågren, Dalemo and Burrows in 2021 revived the quartet dynamic ahead of the release of Planet Nowhere in 2024.
