Info

Manic Street Preachers and Suede share the bill for a special night at Utilita Arena Birmingham on 7 November 2026. Two bands that shaped the UK guitar landscape in the 90s come together for a show that bridges early breakthroughs and recent chapters.

Suede bring their mix of glamour and grit, with Brett Anderson’s elastic voice and a taste for sharp guitars and nocturnal romance. From the immediate impact of their debut and the darker sweep of Dog Man Star to the pop punch of Coming Up, their catalogue moves with ease between tension and melody. Reformed in the 2010s, they’ve sharpened their edge across Bloodsports, Night Thoughts and Autofiction, reconnecting with a raw, urgent energy that suits the stage.

Formed in Blackwood in 1986, Manic Street Preachers forged a route from punk-glam sparks to articulate, melodic alt-rock. The early run of Generation Terrorists, Gold Against the Soul and The Holy Bible set a confrontational, literate tone, before Everything Must Go and This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours widened the sound without losing bite. Later records like Journal for Plague Lovers, The Ultra Vivid Lament and Critical Thinking kept their political and emotional focus intact. Live, the trio balance serrated riffs, big choruses and a clear sense of purpose.
