The Lottery Winners
Formed in 2008 in Leigh, Greater Manchester, The Lottery Winners comprise Thom Rylance, Robert Lally, Katie Lloyd and Joe Singleton. The band plays lively, melodic British indie pop driven by bright guitars, carefully crafted choruses and a tone often rooted in everyday life. They first developed on the pub and small-venue circuit in northern England before gaining wider visibility in the late 2010s and signing to Modern Sky UK in 2019. The band released The Lottery Winners in 2020, followed the same year by the covers album Sounds of Isolation, recorded during the pandemic, and Something to Leave the House For in 2021. With Anxiety Replacement Therapy in 2023 they broadened their scope further, inviting guests such as Frank Turner, Shaun Ryder and Boy George while retaining a direct pop songwriting style. KOKO followed in 2025. A regular on British tours, The Lottery Winners have also shared bills with acts like The Wonder Stuff, Tom Jones, Paul Weller, Richard Ashcroft, Nickelback and Robbie Williams, a trajectory that places them between the English indie scene, festival pop and popular live culture.
