The Feeling
Born in Horsham, Sussex, around singer–guitarist Dan Gillespie Sells, bassist Richard Jones, brothers Kevin and Ciaran Jeremiah and drummer Paul Stewart, The Feeling formed in the 1990s from a background of session work and extensive live experience, notably performing in the Alps under the name Superfly. The Feeling developed a melodic pop-rock centred on guitars and piano, at the crossroads of soft rock, power pop and songwriting heavily influenced by British pop of the 1970s and 1980s. After early singles released in 2005 and 2006, the band broke through with the album Twelve Stops and Home in 2006, then followed with Join with Us in 2008 and Together We Were Made in 2011, which features a duet with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Subsequent releases include Boy Cried Wolf (2013), The Feeling (2016), Loss. Hope. Love. (2022) and San Vito (2024). Over the years the group alternated UK tours, festival appearances and trips to the United States, while retaining an identity built on vocal harmonies, pop choruses and a clear production. During the band's hiatus in the late 2010s, Dan Gillespie Sells also co-wrote the music for the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, before The Feeling returned to record and tour.
