Tide Lines
Born in the Scottish Highlands and based in Glasgow, Tide Lines has developed since the mid-2010s a style that sits between folk rock, melodic pop and Celtic heritage. Formed around singer Robert Robertson, with Alasdair Turner, Ross Wilson and Fergus Munro, the band evokes coastal landscapes and small Highland towns in its songs, mixing English lyrics with occasional Gaelic elements. The release of their debut album Dreams We Never Lost in 2017 set the foundation for a sound where electric guitars, keyboards and traditional folk influences coexist within formats close to modern pop. In 2020, the album Eye of the Storm confirmed this move toward accessible music built on direct vocal melodies and more assertive arrangements. Continuing to balance local culture and contemporary songwriting, Tide Lines released An Ocean Full of Islands in 2023, which extends their focus on themes of memory, travel and connections to rural communities while strengthening the band's presence on Scottish and UK stages.
