Red Rum Club

Born in Crosby, Merseyside, Red Rum Club formed in 2016 from musicians drawn from several local bands and initially established themselves as a sextet, with a trumpet that gives their rock an immediately identifiable tone. Situated between alternative rock, indie rock, indie pop and touches of Americana, Red Rum Club crafts a taut, melodic sound propelled by a forward bass, straightforward guitars and crisp choruses, sometimes tinged with an almost mariachi hue from the brass. The band launched their discography with Matador in 2019, followed by The Hollow of Humdrum (2020), How to Steal the World (2021), Western Approaches (2024) and Buck (2025). Across these albums they have broadened their songwriting while remaining rooted in a British rock aesthetic informed by Liverpool and by their international touring. They have appeared on stages such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Kendal Calling and Liverpool Sound City, and toured alongside Blossoms and later The Wombats. In 2026 the departure of trumpeter Joe Corby opened a new phase in Red Rum Club's story.
