Twin Atlantic

Formed in Glasgow in 2007, Twin Atlantic initially made their mark with tense alternative rock that blended power pop, emo-pop and indie rock into direct, melodic songs often driven by tight, hooky choruses. The band attracted attention with the EP A Guidance from Colour (2008) and Vivarium (2009), and broadened their audience with the albums Free (2011), Great Divide (2014) and GLA (2016). Over the years Twin Atlantic’s songwriting moved toward a bigger, more upfront sound while retaining a strong rock foundation, sometimes incorporating more modern textures and club-inspired energy, notably on Power (2020) and Transparency (2022). Meltdown, released in 2024, continues this direction with more abrasive guitars. Very active live, Twin Atlantic have toured with acts such as Taking Back Sunday, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance and Thirty Seconds to Mars, and have played numerous British and European festivals. The core of Twin Atlantic is Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae, joined on drums by Joe Lazarus since 2021; Barry McKenna, who ceased to be an official member in 2019, still appears at shows.
