The Sherlocks

Formed in 2010 in South Yorkshire, around Bolton upon Dearne near Barnsley, The Sherlocks bring together two pairs of brothers, Kiaran and Brandon Crook with Andy and Josh Davidson, a lineup that translates into a tight, direct band dynamic. The British quartet sits within guitar-driven melodic indie rock, nourished by alternative rock and britpop, with songs built on straightforward choruses, a sense of stage urgency, and writing that stays rooted in a club- and festival-rock format. After a first EP, First Bite of the Apple, in 2013, The Sherlocks began to circulate on the English indie scene with several singles, then played at events such as Reading and Leeds and SXSW, while also supporting The Libertines, Liam Gallagher or The Kooks. This rise in visibility led to a debut album, Live for the Moment, in 2017, followed by Under Your Sky in 2019. Through these releases The Sherlocks slightly broaden their palette without leaving an energetic indie-rock base, between clear guitar lines, punchy rhythm and pop accents. Regularly on British and European stages, The Sherlocks remain associated with this vein of English indie rock born from small rooms, supported tours and a very upfront approach to live performance.
