Whiskey Myers

Formed in Palestine, a small town in East Texas, Whiskey Myers follows the southern rock tradition while blending country, classic rock and roots influences. Built around singer and guitarist Cody Cannon and several musicians from the Texas scene, the band began to draw attention in the late 2000s with the self-released Road of Life (2008), followed by Firewater (2011), which established them on the independent country-rock circuit. Whiskey Myers then refined their songwriting and moved toward a bigger sound with Early Morning Shakes (2014) and Mud (2016), both produced by Dave Cobb, where heavy riffs, acoustic passages, vocal-driven ballads and references to the blues and Southern hard rock meet. Having become a regular touring act across the United States, Whiskey Myers has played numerous club and festival dates, opened for established country and rock artists and grown an international audience. The albums Whiskey Myers (2019) and Tornillo (2022) continue this aesthetic—storytelling rooted in rural life, cutting guitars and a straightforward rhythm section—confirming the band’s place in the contemporary southern rock scene.
