Zach Bryan
Born into a military family in 1996 and raised in Oologah, Oklahoma, Zach Bryan developed his songwriting while serving in the US Navy, recording stripped‑down country‑folk songs that he posted informally online. Rooted in an American tradition blending country, folk and Americana, Bryan favors simple acoustic arrangements, a raw vocal delivery and narrative lyrics focused on rural life, relationships and family memory. After gaining initial visibility on the internet, he self‑released DeAnn in 2019 and Elisabeth in 2020—two albums marked by a lo‑fi aesthetic and a strong emphasis on guitar and harmonica. Signed to Warner Records, he broadened his audience with American Heartbreak in 2022, propelled notably by the single Something in the Orange, and with the EP Summertime Blues the same year. The album Zach Bryan (2023) and the EP Boys of Faith deepened an approach in which slow ballads and more alt‑country‑rooted tracks coexist, including a few duets, notably with Kacey Musgraves. In 2024, The Great American Bar Scene continued this introspective songwriting, while Bryan increased his touring in North America and appearances at country‑ and Americana‑oriented festivals.
