Cody Jinks
Born in Haltom City, in the suburbs of Fort Worth, Texas, Cody Jinks has gradually established himself as a prominent singer‑songwriter on the American independent country scene. Initially a guitarist in a local thrash metal band in the early 2000s, he steadily shifted his work toward a country sound informed by classic Nashville tones and Texas heritage, blending slow ballads, mid‑tempo tracks and touches of southern rock. Frequently described as part of the outlaw country tradition, he developed a style focused on a deep, direct vocal delivery, spare arrangements (guitars, pedal steel, rhythm section) and narrative lyrics concerned with everyday life, family, faith, excess and their consequences. Jinks truly emerged in the 2010s with a string of self‑produced albums and constant touring with his band, building an audience through clubs and mid‑sized venues across the United States. Albums such as “Adobe Sessions” (2015), “I’m Not the Devil” (2016), “Lifers” (2018), “After the Fire” (2019), “The Wanting” (2019) and “Mercy” (2021) form a coherent discography, largely released on his own label. Regularly associated with the Texas country scene and artists aligned with the outlaw aesthetic, Cody Jinks continues an independent approach centered on songwriting, live performance and a direct relationship with his audience.
