Grace Ives

Based in New York, Grace Ives develops an electronic pop approach that moves between minimal synth-pop and direct bedroom pop, driven by dry drum machines, melodic synth lines and a clear voice often placed very prominently. An American singer‑songwriter and producer, Grace Ives crafts short, structured songs inspired as much by 1980s pop as by contemporary DIY aesthetics. After studying composition and production, she released a self-produced debut EP, “Really Hot”, in 2016, which helped her emerge within networks of small venues and alternative New York scenes. She followed with the album “2nd” in 2019, marked by a more assertive songwriting and a very rhythmic use of synths, and with “Janky Star” in 2022, which deepens a blend of electropop, synthetic ballads and variations closer to indie pop. Present on both independent circuits and festival bills, Grace Ives develops a format of direct songs centered on voice and melodic repetition while maintaining a deliberately tight, intimate production.
