High Vis
Formed in London in 2016 by musicians from the British hardcore scene, High Vis develops a sound that crosses hardcore punk, post-punk, indie rock and post-hardcore, with detours into baggy, Britpop and certain rhythms of British dance music. The band has built itself around singer Graham Sayle, originally from New Brighton in Merseyside, whose phrasing maintains a hardcore tension while allowing more space for singing as the records progress. After a series of early EPs, I, II and III in 2017, High Vis released its debut album, No Sense No Feeling, in 2019, followed by Society Exists in 2020. With Blending in 2022, High Vis further broadens its approach by letting tense guitars coexist with more open melodies and the English post-punk heritage, which leads it to circulate in both punk circuits and on rock stages and larger festivals in the UK, Europe and North America. The band continues this evolution with Guided Tour in 2024, where house and UK garage influences appear more clearly in a writing that remains tense and direct. High Vis today brings together Graham Sayle, Rob Hammeren, Edward “Ski” Harper, Martin MacNamara and Jack Muncaster.
