Drug Church

Formed in the early 2010s in Albany, New York, Drug Church operates at the intersection of punk hardcore, post-hardcore and alternative rock, driven by a often ironic spoken-sung vocal style. Centered on singer Patrick Kindlon, the band quickly developed a sound of dense guitars, heavy rhythms and direct melodies paired with lyrics focused on everyday frustrations and social relations. After several early recordings, Drug Church released their debut album, Paul Walker, in 2013 on No Sleep Records, establishing an abrasive yet accessible style, followed by Hit Your Head in 2015 and the EP Swell the same year. Their move to Pure Noise Records accompanied a shift toward more melodic songwriting without abandoning hardcore energy, with Cheer in 2018, the EP Tawny in 2021 and Hygiene in 2022. Active on North American and European punk and independent stages, Drug Church tours regularly in settings where punk, emo and alternative rock overlap, consolidating an identity that sits between contemporary hardcore band and a more classic guitar-rock formation.
