Mau P

Active since 2022 under the name Mau P, Maurits Westveen is a Dutch producer and DJ based in Amsterdam, previously involved in the EDM scene under the alias Maurice West. With the Mau P project he refocuses on club-oriented house and tech house built around repetitive basslines, chopped vocals and direct arrangements designed for the dancefloor. Mau P’s first single, “Drugs From Amsterdam” (2022), released via Insomniac Records and Repopulate Mars, quickly drew attention beyond the Dutch club circuit and established the project’s sonic signature. He followed with “Gimme That Bounce” (2023), which extended this groovy, minimal aesthetic, then broadened his palette toward more melodic, techno-leaning textures with “Metro” (2023), co-produced with Kevin de Vries for the Afterlife label. Between productions tailored for DJ sets and a clear club orientation, Mau P is part of a new wave of European house that moves equally across dancefloors and streaming platforms.
