John Summit

Originally from Illinois and initially active in Chicago’s orbit, John Summit emerged in the late 2010s with a house approach focused on club effectiveness: tech-house influences, clean basslines, dry percussion and occasional more melodic passages. He gained wider attention in 2020 with the track “Deep End,” then steered his writing toward more vocal and open formats while staying firmly within dance music. His repertoire thus combines frontal energy, structures inherited from American house and touches of progressive house or trance depending on the production. Over the years John Summit expanded his activity across originals, remixes and collaborations — notably with Hayla and Kaskade — while developing Experts Only, both a label and an events series. Active on club and festival circuits in North America and Europe, he figures in a contemporary electronic scene where Chicago’s house culture remains an anchor point, even when his tracks take more melodic, festival-oriented directions.
