SIDEPIECE

A joint project by American producers Dylan Ragland and Ricky Mears—already active under the names Party Favor and Nitti Gritti—SIDEPIECE occupies a house and tech-house space squarely aimed at the club. Launched in the late 2010s, the duo quickly drew attention with the 2019 single “On My Mind” in collaboration with Diplo, which established SIDEPIECE in a potent vocal-house lane built on repetitive basslines, chopped vocal hooks, and a pronounced sense of groove. Since then, the project has released a steady stream of singles and remixes on international electronic labels while developing a DJ set–oriented format suited to both major festivals and more intimate clubs. SIDEPIECE’s productions blend tech house, US house, and more melodic influences, with particular attention to breaks and buildups crafted for the dance floor. Through tours across North America and Europe, the duo has solidified a recognizable sonic identity while maintaining a collaborative approach with fellow producers from the dance and EDM sphere.
