Active on the Australian tech house scene since the mid-2010s, Fisher — born Paul Nicholas Fisher — hails from the Gold Coast in Queensland. He initially pursued a career as a professional surfer before turning his focus to the club circuit. He spent some time as half of the duo Cut Snake, which placed him on international party and festival bills, and then launched his solo Fisher project with a series of dancefloor-oriented releases from 2017 onward, including the EP “Oi Oi” (2017) on Dirtybird. His trajectory became clearer with the singles “Losing It” (2018) and “You Little Beauty” (2019), tracks that defined his sound between house and tech house: repetitive basslines, groove-centered arrangements and frequent use of chopped vocals or soul and disco samples. Fisher releases most of his material on specialist labels such as Dirtybird and Catch & Release and has built his reputation through regular tours across Europe, North America and Australia, playing everything from major festivals to clubs of varying sizes. His DJ sets mix his own productions with contemporary house tracks, emphasizing progressive buildups and rhythmic breakdowns, placing him in an aesthetic clearly designed for the dancefloor while remaining rooted in current tech house conventions.
