Chris Lake

British house producer and DJ Chris Lake first gained attention on the European club scene in the early 2000s before expanding his activity between Europe and the United States. Born in Norwich, England, and later based in Los Angeles, Chris Lake began working in a vein close to trance and progressive house, then refined a sound focused on house and tech house — linear rhythms, pronounced basslines and catchy vocals. His early maxi singles circulated on various independent labels, after which he founded his own label, Rising Music, a move that allowed him to follow with frequent releases and collaborations as a producer, remixer and songwriter for other electronic projects. From the second half of the 2010s, Chris Lake developed the label Black Book Records, dedicated to dancefloor‑oriented house, and increased co-productions with DJs such as Chris Lorenzo and Fisher, which have been featured in clubs and international festivals. Lake’s work ranges from instrumental, mix-friendly tracks to vocal-led pop structures, maintaining a balance between club effectiveness and melodic songwriting.
